Second Annual Healing In Bloom Fashion Show to Benefit Child Abuse Prevention Organization, Society Prosper

KATY, TX - April 10, 2025 - West Houston is coming together for an afternoon of fashion and fundraising in the name of healing for children right here in our area. Presented by Kendall Jackson, with Palmer Kate Boutique and Shop Ethan & Emily, guests will be treated to a brunch, auction and fashion show at the Hollis Event Space in Fulshear on Saturday, April 26, 2025 starting at 11a.m.
Society Prosper was founded by President Megan Langham in 2020 in an effort to raise funds to support young Houston-area victims of child abuse or neglect through therapeutic services. By providing therapy and counseling to children at an early age, this healing process can help stop the cycle of future abuse, addiction and violence that is prevalent among survivors. Facilitating funds to local therapists and counseling centers in Harris and Fort Bend counties, they have been able to provide over 1,082 hours of therapy to date.
1 in 7 children are victims of abuse and neglect each year, with 90% abused by someone they know and trust.
Victims are:
70% more likely to commit violent crimes
66% more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol
25% more likely to drop out of high school
30% more likely to abuse their own children
In addition to supporting legislature like The Stronger Child Abuse Treatment and Prevention Act (H.R. 485), Society Prosper’s mission also aims to raise awareness for signs and actions to take in aiding a victim of abuse or neglect.
The organization asks the community to pledge to “See Something, Say Something,” if you notice signs of abuse or neglect. If you suspect a child is in an unsafe situation, please contact the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services (1-800-252-5400), or your local law enforcement agency.
“Society Prosper was founded with the future of our youth in mind,” says Langham. “These events and the support from local businesses and our community help today’s youth heal by learning tools to overcome abuse, and ultimately live a healthier and safer life; a life they deserve.”
Healing in Bloom tickets can be purchased at SocietyProsper.org. In addition to fashions modeled by local business women, guests will be treated to brunch, wine, music, shopping and a live auction. VIP tickets to the Bloom Bar are also available.
